Paneer Butter Masala

A creamy, buttery delight with soft paneer cubes simmered in a rich tomato-based gravy, bursting with aromatic spices. Try this restaurant style gravy at home, detailed recipe is as follow.

Recipe

  • In a kadai add oil, butter, some clove and cardamom pieces, saute this well
  • Now add roughly chopped onions and cook until tender
  • Then add few garlic pods and ginger pieces, saute this well again
  • Now add roughly chopped tomatoes and cashews
  • Cover and cook this mixture until tomatoes turn mushy
  • Cool this mix and make a paste
  • Cut paneer into cubes and keep it aside for later use
  • Take a kadai, add ghee/oil along with butter, add bay leaves along with slit green chillies and let it infuse its flavor in the butter
  • Now add finely chopped onions and let them get translucent
  • Add turmeric, red chili and coriander and garam masala powder
  • Let it simmer and add jaggery to balance the flavor
  • Add water and adjust the consistency
  • Finally add fresh cream and mix well
  • Lastly add the paneer cubes and simmer until paneer is soft
  • Garnish with some coriander leaves & cream
